Scott Wagner: “There are so many people in Pennsylvania who need help and I want to be able to help them.”
Yesterday, while Paul Mango released a false attack ad going after Scott Wagner’s character, Wagner was focused on what really matters in this year’s Governor’s race – the people of Pennsylvania. In an interview with the PennLive Editorial Board, Wagner was asked about what he would do to help curb the problem of veterans committing suicide in Pennsylvania. Wagner responded with an emotional speech highlighting the challenges he will endure if elected Governor, but affirming his determination to face those challenges head on.
SCOTT WAGNER: “When I tell you we have so many issues – My wife asked me a question about being Governor, and you really got to think about this, she said does any of this scare you? Absolutely. It scares me to death because there are so many people in Pennsylvania who need help and I want to be able to help them. And it’s a scary process. You know, like this. I went to Western Pennsylvania three years ago and held hearings. I have not been able to help these people. I’m ashamed to go back. And that’s the kind of stuff that really upsets me. I’m telling you, as Governor, we’re going to do something about veterans, we’re going to do something about seniors, we’re going to do something about school taxes. It is absolutely – the people of Pennsylvania deserve it. I want you to be part of my team. That’s the only way we are going to solve these problems.”
